Ngapali Beach: A pocket guide

Ngapali Beach, Myanmar.

On the Bay of Bengal, lapped by the waters of the Indian Ocean, this is one of Asia’s great beaches. There are many beautiful beaches in this world, and Ngapali Beach can easily hold its own amongst the top ten.

One of Asia’s Best Secret Beaches

Endless miles of finest white sand, palm trees gently swaying in the breeze, clear blue swimming waters—add to this the friendliness of the people and fresh locally grown produce, catch-of-the-day fresh fish, and glorious sunsets and yes, there is a paradise, and Ngapali Beach is a top candidate.

Visit the friendly and colorful town of Thandwe with its lively market and shop for tribal cosmetics and herbs, or bicycle along the coconut palm groves with the ocean on one side  and visit the fishing villages and small pagodas of the coast. The lights of the shrimping boats at night, the sound of falling coconuts and the village schoolchildren returning home along the beach punctuate the days and nights of this lovely area. Easily reached from Yangon, this is a classic way to end a strenuous tour of Myanmar.
