Verbier: A pocket guide
One of the most popular ski resorts in Europe, Verbier is one that has kept its charm and traditional style village despite its ever growing popularity and indulgent luxury chalets.
Verbier offers a wide choice of exclusive catered chalets and luxury ski hotels. Verbier is home to some of the best off-piste skiing in the world and is primarily focused on intermediate and advanced grade skiers. The resort lies in a sunny, south-facing valley with stunning panoramas of the surrounding summits. It is also the largest and most popular resort of the 4 Vallées ski region, linking with other resorts including Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz.
Aside from skiing, Verbier hosts many annual events. Not to be missed is the Freeride World Tour, Xtreme Verbier, at the end of March. If you buy one thing on your visit to Verbier, make sure to visit Surefoot. The boutique, in Verbier town centre, is a custom-made ski boot designer. Offering a snug and perfect fit for your feet, Surefoot ensures that you ski to the best of your ability.
For food, there are a couple of stellar restaurants to choose from.Restaurant Fer à Cheval is always full with locals, seasonaires and holidaymakers. It has a cosy and lively bar and bistro upstairs and quieter seating downstairs. Chalet d’Adrien has the only Michelin Star in the centre of Verbier, and offers a beautiful variety of locally inspired fine dining and stunning views. Book in advance.
